Yifan Cai has worked for the International Office and the International Education School of Guangzhou University/Wesleyan College of Guangzhou University since 2000. Prior to Guangzhou University, she worked for Petrochina for seven years as a translator and negotiator with famous petroleum companies in the world.

Yifan Cai specializes in English language and literature. Her research interests include translation and interpretation, cross-cultural communication and international education. She is the author of several articles about translation, cross-cultural communication and international education published in various academic journals.

Yifan Cai received her bachelor and master degrees from Sun Yet-sen University. In addition, she also majored in an MBA program at Houston University, USA, for three months and received short-term training in higher education administration programs at Southwest College and Maryland University, USA. She was a visiting scholar at Wesleyan College and is a member of the Guangzhou Translation Association, the International Student Education Branch of the China Higher Education Association and Executive Director of the Guangdong International Student Education Association.
